The volume up and down switches of Sony Ericsson Spiro W100i and W100a is connected to the Keypad filter IC and associated the keypad keys 1, 4, 7 and * star. If both said keypad keys also doesn't work, you may then consider that the problem lies on a faulty EMI filter IC. Replacing it might well fix the problem.
